Hello Katiuska,
My name is Robert Gutierrez, and I spoke to you a few times a while back. I don't know if you remember me. I am from Louisiana and I am a descendant of the Canary Islanders of Louisiana. There are alot of Canary descendants in Louisiana, mainly in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana.
I was just surfing the net about my heritage; Canarias: La Tierra Guanche. Also, I have met a few friends online from Canarias. From what I found on the web, to my understanding, besides us in Louisiana, there are also a few descendants in San Antonio, Texas, and a small community of Canary immigrants in Miami. That seems to be all of the Canarios in the USA. All the ones in Louisiana are not immigrants, but we are the great grandchildren of the Canary immigrants. I was just stopping by to say hello.
I have some family in Hawaii too. I used to live in Hawaii for 2 years. I lived in Kalihi Valley (Kalihi Uka) up on the mountain, just beside the the likelike tunnel (on the right side of Likelike) going to Kaneohe. I do miss Hawaii and I plan to return someday. I lived there from 2003 to 2005. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello.
Oye xaxa...Somos mas Canario que el gofio!!! Y cuando hablo espanol, tengo el acento Canario de sus islas. Arriba la cultura Canaria y viva Canarias!!!
Saludos desde Luisiana,
Robert Gutierrez
